scholarship report for seniors

 

SELECTIVE SERVICE: All young men are required by law to register with selective service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Young men can submit their registration information when they turn 17 years and 3 months and it takes only a few minutes on the internet at www.ssa.gov or you can pick up a registration card at your local post office. When they turn 18, their registration will be processed automatically. An acknowledgment card will be mailed to them with their Selective Service number.

ACT Test Dates:

October 28 – Registration Deadline September 22

December 9 –Registration Deadline November 3

February 10- Registration Deadline January 12

April 14 – Registration Deadline March 9

June 9 – Registration Deadline May 4

July 14- Registration Deadline June 15

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship:

Amount: $1,500.00

This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior girl who has been politically

 

 

active within the Republican Party. The qualified applicant will graduated from a Kentucky high school in 2018, is or will be a registered Republican and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky.

Deadline: Must be postmarked by April 2, 2018

Aspiring Animation Scholarship:

Amount: $1000.00

This is for a student interested in pursuing an animation related degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit www.animationcareerreview.com to find eligibility information along with application.

Deadline: June 1, 2018

Aspiring Fashion Scholarship:

Amount: $1000.00

This is awarded annually to a student interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit www.fashion-schools.org to find eligibility information along with an online application.

Deadline: June 1, 2018

Aspiring business Scholarship:

Amount: $1000.00

This scholarship is awarded annually to a student interested in pursuing a business degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit www.onlinembareport.com to find eligibility information along with an online application.

Deadline: June 1, 2018

AXA Achievement Scholarship:

Scholarship winners demonstrate ambition and self-drive with outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. 

Applications will be accepted until December 15, 2017 or until 10,000 applications are received.

University of Kentucky Athletic Training Program:

Any senior student who holds a 2.75 or above cumulative GPA and may be interested in becoming a student athletic trainer.

Deadline: must be mailed by February 8, 2018

SEKC Scholarship:

Amount: $500.00 

This scholarship is for one male and female student athlete graduating from a school which is a member of the SEKC conference.

Eligibility:

Must be a member of a team which competes for SEKC awards

GPA: 3.0 or higher

Not receiving a lot of other scholarships or financial aid.

Quality of short essay written by student

Applications are in guidance.

Louis Stout Scholarship:

Amount: $2,000.00

A one-time scholarship payable to an institution of higher learning will be awarded each year for the next four years. The scholarship is not renewable and is not endowed for expansion.

Minimum criteria is a 3.5 grade point average, involvement in a varsity sport or sport-activities, involvement in other school activities, a record of community service and a member of the 2017-2018 senior class.

Dr. Tae-Joon Seo Memorial Scholarship:

Amount: $1,000.00

Eligibility:

You must have proof of admission to an accredited technology school.

Documentation of financial need: complete copies of parents', spouse's, and their own most recent 1040, 1040A or 1040EX and W2 forms.

All nontaxable income (AFDC, ADC, Social Security Benefits, etc.) also must be documented by the appropriate agency.

Completed application form.

Two letters of recommendation from instructors who have taught the applicant within the last two years.

High school, Technology or College transcript.

The purpose of the Dr. Tae-joon Seo Memorial Scholarship program is intended to support individuals who live in South Eastern Kentucky and are perusing a career as a radiology technologist.
